Welcome to Maydew Central, a web site holding information for the world's Maydews.

I am sorry to announce that my father Douglas Maydew, whose diligent and patient research made this site possible, died peacefully and unexpectedly at home in Spain during the evening of the 9th July 2010. His ashes were placed in the sea at a secluded beach which he would have visited when photographing the sunrise during his morning walk. In due course his name will be added to the Maydew family vault in Stockport cemetery.

We have taken back-ups of his computer files, but I am currently unable to read or update any family tree data. In any case, lack of time means that genealogical research work must unfortunately stop for the time being.

Much of the family tree is also available at Genes Reunited. Messages left there for Douglas will be routed to me.
